Dam of Monomoy Girl and foal to be offered at Fasig-Tipton November Sale

DRUMETTE, the dam of four-time Grade 1 winner and leading Eclipse Champion three-year-old filly candidate MONOMOY GIRL, will be offered at this year’s Fasig-Tipton November Sale by Gainesway, agent.

The 10-year-old mare will be one of the first mares offered in foal to MASTERY, the undefeated Grade 1 winning son of CANDY RIDE.

A half-sister to graded stakes winner DRUM MAJOR from the family of Champion HEAVENLY CAUSE, DRUMETTE is a 100% percent winner-producer from three to foals to race.  Her third foal is the brilliant MONOMOY GIRL, undefeated in five graded stakes starts this year on dirt, including the Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1), Coaching Club American Oaks (G1), Acorn S. (G1), and Ashland S. (G1).  As a two-year-old, MONOMOY GIRL won her first three career starts, including the Rags to Riches S. by more than six lengths at Churchill Downs.

Trained by Brad Cox, MONOMOY GIRL is currently preparing for a start in the Cotillion S. (G1) at Parx on September 22, with eyes on the Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) at Churchill Downs this fall.

In total, the versatile MONOMOY GIRL is a winner of 8 of 9 career starts, including a debut victory at two over turf.  She boasts graded stakes victories at five different race tracks, and career earnings of more than $1.6 million.

Gainesway will also offer DRUMETTE’s weanling colt by Shackleford at the November Sale.

“We are appreciative of the opportunity to offer such an elite producer as Drumette at our November Sale,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning.  “Monomoy Girl has established herself as the top three-year-old filly of her generation, making Drumette one of most exciting broodmares to come to public auction this year.”

The Fasig-Tipton November Sale will be held on Sunday evening, November 4.
