Catalogue for 105th Saratoga Sale now available

Fasig-Tipton has catalogued 230 selected yearlings for the 105th Saratoga Sale, to be held on Monday and Tuesday, August 10 and 11, in Saratoga Springs, New York.  Sessions will begin each evening at 6:30 pm in the Humphrey S. Finney Sales Pavilion.

“We’ve set a high standard in recent years with a series of exceptional Saratoga sales, and this year’s catalogue is every bit as strong—if not stronger—than those acclaimed renewals,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning. “Elite individuals, leading sire power, and depth of pedigree will once again be on full display at our historic Saratoga sales grounds.”

The Saratoga Sale is yet again the top ranked major North American yearling sale by percentage of Grade 1 winners and graded stakes winners according to statistics recently released by The BloodHorse MarketWatch.

The auction has produced six individual grade one winners over the past year.  Recent sales graduates include Champion Sierra Leone, who last year added the Whitney S. (G1) to his remarkable resume; Journalism, who followed up his win in last year’s Preakness S. (G1) with a victory in the Haskell S. (G1); Clicquot, winner of the Cotillion S. (G1); Commandment, winner of this year’s Florida Derby (G1); Shred the Gnar, who captured the Fasig-Tipton La Troienne S. (G1) on Kentucky Derby day; and Hope Road, who claimed the Ballerina S. (G1) at Saratoga.

In addition to success at the Grade 1 level, Saratoga has produced 10 additional individual graded stakes winners over the last 12 months in Barnes, Call Sign Seven, Final Score, Fulleffort, Litmus Test, Nafisa, Paladin, Perfect Shot, Potente, and Zany.

“To produce such a high number of graded stakes winners each year at Saratoga, from just one book of 200 to 240 yearlings, is truly remarkable,” continued Browning.  “It’s a testament to the depth of quality that can only be found at The Saratoga Sale.”

The catalogue may now be viewed online, and will also be available via the equineline sales catalogue app.  Print catalogues are now available from all Fasig-Tipton offices.
