Eclipse Champion Monomoy Girl (Hip 192) sold for $9,500,000 at The November Sale. The seven-time Grade 1 winner was purchased by Spendthrift Farm from the consignment of ELiTE, agent.

Monomoy Girl was an Eclipse Champion at three and presumptive Champion Older Dirt Female for her efforts this year at five. She won 13 of 15 career starts, and was within a neck of victory in her other two starts. Monomoy Girl captured 10 graded stakes in her impressive career, including two editions of the Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1), making her one of only four mares to capture that race twice. Among her graded stakes wins are the Kentucky Oaks (G1), Acorn S. (G1), Ashland S. (G1), La Troienne S. (G1), and the Coaching Club American Oaks (G1).

Monomoy Girl currently sits sixth in earnings among the all-time North American-based dirt females with $4,426,818. She has won 13 of 15 starts to date for owners Michael Dubb, Monomoy Stables, The Elkstone Group (Stuart Grant), and Bethlehem Stables and trainer Brad Cox.

By Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner Tapizar, Monomoy Girl is one of six winners from as many to race out of the Drumette mare Henny Hughes. Those winners include this year's Risen Star S. (G2) winner Mr. Monomoy (Palace Malice). The immediate family includes Eclipse Champion Two-Year-Old Filly Heavenly Cause.
