Phoenix Thoroughbreds Gets Into Mischief for $450,000

Hip 425, a colt by ever popular juvenile sire Into Mischief, sold for $450,000 midway through the final session of the Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training sale. The bay colt was purchased by Phoenix Thoroughbred III Ltd from the consignment of Wavertree Stables, agent after working an eighth in 10.1 during the under tack show (video).

Into Mischief is the sire top juveniles like Practical Joke, Instagrand, and Maximus Mischief – the latter a graduate of this sale last year and a winner of last term’s Remsen S. (G2).

Hip 425 is the first foal out of the winning Quality Road mare Roadbug, a granddaughter of Grade 1 winner Diplomat Lady. The immediate family also includes Grade/Group 2 winners Dream Play, Zulu Land, and Hunter O’Riley.
