A colt by champion STREET SENSE became the new sale topper when sold for $500,000 midday during the final session of The October Sale. Offered as Hip 1281, the dark bay or brown colt was purchased by Donato Lanni, agent from the consignment of Eaton Sales, agent.

By the sire of Breeders’ Cup Classic hopeful MCKINZIE, this colt is a half-brother to three winners out of the PULPIT mare SHIMMER. That mare has also produced SISTER MOON, a graded stakes placed winner who broke her maiden first time out at Del Mar at two, winning by 9 3/4 lengths and setting a track record for 5 1/2 furlongs on the all weather in 1:02.70.

SHIMMER is out of Grade 2 winner PRIVATE LIGHT, making her a half-sister to Grade 2 winner CIELO GOLD and to the dam of stakes winner IN TE DOMINE. This is the immediate family of two-time champion and Broodmare of the Year MISTY MORN; Group 1 winner PRIOLIO; two-time leading sire WHAT A PLEASURE; and Grade 2 winners FLITALONG, SOAR TO THE STARS, and JUMP ON IN.

Hip 1281 was bred in Kentucky by Forging Oaks Farm.
