COVID-19 TESTING AT FASIG-TIPTON & KEENELAND

COVID-19 testing will be available on-site at Fasig-Tipton and Keeneland on the following dates:

FASIG-TIPTON

Who is required to be tested for COVID-19?

  • Consignors & Staff
  • Veterinarians & Staff
  • Farriers
  • Media
  • Van Counter Representatives

Buyers/Owners are not required to be tested but will have to register for the sale and complete a health questionnaire to obtain credentials prior to entry to the grounds.

Will testing be provided for me?

COVID-19 testing will be available on-site at Fasig-Tipton and Keeneland on the dates listed above.

Who is providing the testing?

Testing is being provided by GENETWORx, a Virginia based lab that is currently providing testing for The White House and NBC Studios as well as multiple school districts in VA, NY, TN, and FL as well as others.

What type of test is being administered?

It is a PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test which is more reliable than the rapid response antigen test and has an accuracy rate of 99%.

How long will it take to get my results?

Test results should be available within 24 hours from the end of the testing day in which you test was taken.

How will I receive my results?

Results will be available through the GENETWORx portal.

What do I need to bring?

You will need to provide the release form and requisition/registration form found on the Fasig-Tipton website. In addition, bring your insurance card.  If you do not have insurance, bring a social security card or verbally provide your social security number.

Who pays for the testing?

By law, insurance companies must pay for COVID-19 testing. Your insurance will be billed through GENETWORx.  If you do not have insurance, GENETWORx will bill the CARES ACT for payment.  No out of pocket expenses will be incurred.

Do I have to be tested on-site?

No, your test does not have to be taken at Fasig-Tipton, however you must show proof of a negative test within 10 days of your entry to the grounds.

What if I have previously tested positive for COVID-19 and served my quarantine?

If you have previously tested positive for COVID-19 and the results are dated prior to 10 days from your arrival on the grounds, submit the positive test.  Per the Fayette County Health Department, a negative test is not deemed necessary after your 10-day quarantine and further testing is not warranted for 90 days.

How do I obtain my credentials?

Those wishing to enter the sales grounds must register in advance at Fasigtipton.com. In the header, find the tab listed Sale Registration/COVID-19 Protocols.  There will be a link for Virtual Badge; open the link and download the app.  After registering in the app, use the provided code to take you to the Fasig-Tipton badge registration.  After providing the necessary information and answering the COVID-19 questionnaire, you will submit your badge for approval.  At that point, your badge is pending until processed.  Once processed you will be notified via a message on your phone that the badge is approved.

How do I submit my COVID-19 test?

You will submit your test results during the credentialing process.  It will be as easy as uploading a photo of the results to the Virtual Badge app.

Will I need credentials?

The 2020 Selected Yearling Showcase is not open to the public. Access to the grounds will be open to credentialed participants only.

What if I don’t own a smart phone?

Multiple badges may be loaded to a single smart phone if entering the facility together.  Printed badges will be available.

What do I do upon entering the grounds?

Daily screening measures, including temperature checks and health questions are required for all essential participants entering the grounds. All participants are required to wear a face covering and maintain social distancing of at least six feet at all times on the grounds.

Is my badge only good at Fasig-Tipton?

No, after you have received credentials from either Fasig-Tipton or Keeneland, they will be reciprocal in both places.  There will be no need to register with both companies.

Will van drivers hauling horses have to be screened?

No, van drivers will pass the screening process but will not be allowed to get out of their vehicle at the loading chutes.  After all horses are unloaded the van must leave the grounds.

Will delivery drivers be able to deliver food and supplies to the grounds for sales consignments?

Yes, drivers will be allowed on the grounds for food and supply deliveries. It is asked that they contact the consignment they are delivering to and have a staff member of that consignment meet the driver at the stable office for the delivery.

I am a photographer and or videographer, do I need to be tested?

Yes, you will be considered Media, please submit your credentials under that category.
