Half-Sister to Calculator Sells for $150,000

MIGHTY FINE (Hip 237), a half-sister to graded stakes winner CALCULATOR, sold for $150,000 at the Kentucky Winter Mixed sale. Offered in foal to champion RUNHAPPY, the mare was purchased by Shepherd Equine Advisors, agent for Larry Hirsch from the consignment of James M. Herbener, Jr., agent.

By HIGH COTTON, Mighty Fine is a half-sister to four winners out of ALPHABET SOUP mare BACK TO BASICS, including two stakes winners in Calculator and ARMS RUNNER. Winner of the Sham S. (G3) at three, Calculator was runner up to Triple Crown champion AMERICAN PHAROAH in the Del Mar Futurity (G1) and FrontRunner S. (G1) at two, and came up just a head short in the Carter H. (G1) at four. Arms Runner captured the Desert Code S. at three.

Dam Back to Basics is out of the UNBRIDLED mare CHRISTY LOVE, who is closely related to Broodmare of the Year OATSEE and Grade 1 winners SHACKLEFORD and LADY JOANNE. Christy Love produced six winners herself, including graded stakes winner ATTICUS KRISTY, graded stakes placed stakes winner DISTORTED REALITY, and stakes winner and stakes producer FIERY DANCER.

Mighty Fine is in foal to record-setting Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) winner and champion sprinter Runhappy.
