Graded Stakes Placed Jalen Journey Sells for $510,000

Jalen Journey, a graded stakes placed winner by With Distinction, sold for $510,000 at the July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale. Offered as Hip 494 by Four Star Sales, agent, the four-year-old gelding by With Distinction was purchased by J Raymie Lightner, agent.

Jalen Journey won his first three starts this year, capturing a maiden special weight and a pair of allowance events at Gulfstream Park by a combined 17 ¼ lengths. In his most recent start, the bay gelding just missed in the Smile Sprint S. (G3), yielding ¾ of a length to multiple stakes winner Diamonds Oops. To date, Jalen Journey has earned $148,800 while compiling a record of three wins and one second in five starts.

Jalen Journey is a half-brother to Champion and multiple stakes winner Derek Adrian, out of a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Yara. The immediate family includes Grade 1 winners Healthy Addiction, My Sweet Addiction, Touch Gold, and Brilliant Speed.
